Broome Senior High School student will be the first from her school given the chance to study medicine at The University of Western Australia through the Rural Pathway program, which started 12 years ago.

 A leadership program is currently being organised by Australian Banana Growers' Council (ABGC) that will provide a variety of skills and opportunities for young banana growers aged 18 to 35 years old.
