Investing In Youth Undergraduate Studentship Program

What are you going to do when you leave uni?

It's a question you've probably been asked many times before. In fact, probably more times than you care to remember. Well, we are going to ask you just one more time...

We are encouraging graduates to think about a career which is full of challenges, experiences and rewards... a job in the rural sector.

To help you get there, we've established a new initiative called the Investing in Youth Undergraduate Studentship Program.

The studentship offers undergraduate students with financial support and a mentor who can provide you valuable career advice. Under the program we will also offer you relevant industry placements so you can gain experience in your chosen field of study.

Successful recipients will be selected on the basis of their commitment to primary industries and to a career in primary industries.

Up to 10 new studentships will be offered across Australian higher education institutions in 2010. Support will be provided to undergraduate students for a period of up to four years.

The initiative is a collaborative effort across industry and government. RIRDC is working with the Australian Egg Corporation Ltd, Australian Pork Ltd, Cotton Research and Development Corporation, Grains Research and Development Corporation, Grape and Wine Research and Development Corporation and Horticulture Australia to deliver the program.

Application forms are available on the RIRDC website and must be in by 29th January.
