Teachers, student councils and individual secondary students are urged to nominate an outstanding secondary student for this year's Positive Image Awards.
Opening the nominations today, Youth Minister Robyn McSweeney said the awards, first introduced in 1998, recognised the contributions made by secondary students throughout the State.
"There are many Western Australian students who set positive examples and are exemplary role models to their peers. It is vital these students are acknowledged," Mrs McSweeney said.
"For more than a decade these awards have worked to enhance the community's perception of our young people, and I expect the 2012 nominees and winners to do the same."
Secondary schools are encouraged to nominate a school ambassador, who will then be entered into the Positive Image Award and be in the running to become the region ambassador for their education region.
The Minister said she was looking for students who were involved in youth projects and activities, and for those who inspired other students through their work. |
